A group of people goes to San
Francisco each Friday night to bring food to the homeless and
to call out the treasures and speak to them of their destiny.
Homeless people have had food given to them before but rarely,
if ever, has someone taken the time to listen to them and to
speak words of encouragement, conveying the heart of the Father
with no strings attached! It is truly making a difference.
One night eight of us went as
a team with Amy of City
Ministries International (www.city-ministries.com) up
to Polk Street. We got stopped so many times by people wanting
prayer
more
than
food
we only
had about 20 minutes or so on Polk Street, and we were supposed
to be the team that just blasted up there. I was an amazing
night of the Fathers heart. A favorite moment was running into
a guy on the way back who only spoke spanish, which I don't
speak. I understood enough to know that he was telling us the
story of God and man from the Garden of Eden to Jesus. What
a joyful guy (and a bit drunk). He eventually just started
singing worship songs to me in spanish. I joined him on the
one line I could understand "En el nombre de Jesus!".
He didn't care about the language barrier, he was just pouring
out. Neither did I. It was just two brothers swimming in the
joy of what God has done in Jesus Christ. The guy was a fountain
of joy. We ran into alot of Christians and a lot of hope issues
- people wanting to be set free more than wanting food.
